Getting Ready for Next Year!!!

I am going to keep this post fairly short. I spent about 5 hours in the classroom today and it seems as if I didn't spend any time there at all. There is SO much to do... I sometimes find myself wondering around the room thinking "What should I do next". So first things first, I will post a few pictures of my "before" classroom pics. I will be doing quite a bit in the room over the summer and look forward to posting the "after" pictures here within a few months. Here goes.......
Here is one view of the room that shows both entrances of the classroom.
Here is a more closeup view of the main entrance.
Here is a view of the lockers and storage area. The yellow cloth is covering up my desk and computer.
This is the view you would have if you just walked into the classroom from the main entrance.
Here is a view of my bookshelves, if you look closely you can see my desk again in the background.
Here is the view that I would have if I were sitting at my desk.

Of course with this being my first classroom I am a little over excited about getting it "just right". I have purchased quite a bit of stuff for the room. I will be doing my room theme in frogs. I threw away 4 black trash bags of stuff and 4 over flowing boxes of stuff. I threw away quite a bit of stuff that was dated all the way back to 1984 (2 years before I was born). If any of my viewers have any suggestions or comments I would love to hear about them. Please continue checking back as I will be posting many pictures as I continue my journey of setting up my classroom. Thanks for stopping by!!! God Bless!

  1. You crack me up Jared!! I can say this because I did the same thing last summer! Once you get all the clutter out you will be inspired. I painted cabinets and walls to give it a fresh look. I can't wait to see your progress!

    1. I'm in a new classroom this year (and new school), and going through the same process. The dumpster and I saw each other more last week than I saw my husband (or at least, that's how it felt). I threw out things from the 1960's! I couldn't believe the pile up of junk in there. I love transforming rooms - can't wait to see how yours turns out. Lots of luck to you!

  2. Your blog is very useful for me.I really like you post. Thanks for sharing.
